Greece is a popular destination among the newlyweds. This tropical paradise offers couple everything they are looking for in a perfect honeymoon destination. I searched for almost a month before I finalized the country for my honeymoon. Here are the reasons why I chose Greece for my honeymoon and also my first international trip:
.
The Scenic Ferry Rides
Take a ferry from Piraeus port (Athens) to travel to some of the amazing Islands in Greece. Prefer a regular Blue Star ferry over a high speed one to sit on the deck and enjoy the view. The chilly ocean breeze, the beautiful view and a hot coffee is a perfect way to start your day.

.
Stunning Beaches
The picture-perfect Santorini beaches are among the most romantic places I have ever been to. You can talk a walk along the sea shore, watch a sunrise or a sunset, enjoy local food and beer (Or the famous Santorini wine) or just relax and read a book.

.
Beautiful Sunset
The bewitchingly beautiful sunset in Greece is a sight to behold.

.
Romantic Dinner
The first dinner date as a married couple should be memorable. Choose an outdoor seating cliff side restaurant to enjoy the local food and wine while waiting for the sunset. What else can you ask for?

.
Delectable Food
Greece is known for its food – Gyros, Fish, Fava, Meat balls and the list goes on.

.
Distinct Architecture

.
Shopping
Greece is a shopper’s paradise. You can shop traditional Greek dress and jewelry, accessories, Olive oil soaps, wine, spices and souvenirs. You can check out the Mykonos street shopping video to know more about shopping options.
.
Bike Rides
Rent a bike and roam freely anywhere across the beautiful Greek Islands.

.
Blend Romance With The Rich Culture And History Of Athens

Stunning visuals !! Thanks for sharing 🙂

So beautiful! I love all the blue and white. It feels so “other worldly” and romantic. PLUS Greece is a very affordable place to travel right now. Budget friendly always helps! 🙂

We’ve recently visited Greece (you can check our blog) but we didn’t go to the classical sites, although we would love to do so soon, but I can agree on the food and the people 😉 Great place for a romantic holiday

Lived on the mainland of Greece for year and island hopped. Love Santorini and all the islands.

I was planning a trip to Greece with my family, when I changed my mind, as I thought it would be a much nicer destination with my boyfriend. So in the end we had another family holiday. I’m looking forward to going to Greece with my love. Maybe on our honeymoon? 🙂
Loved the article and pictures. It looks stunning!

I’m not going on a honeymoon anytime soon but still want to go! Greece looks so beautiful and I love the white buildings on the islands. I’ve seen some good fares and I’d love to go soon. 🙂

Greece is actually top of my list for honeymoon spots! It seems like there’s a good mix of things to do – lay on the beach, learn about the history/culture of Greece, or do fun activities like bike around the city. It’s also really cheap now, so that’s always a plus. Thanks for sharing the tips and beautiful photos!
