Why I Chose a Blog in the Age of Reels and Scrolls

“Why a blog? You could just post on social media, right?”

I have been getting this question frequently. And honestly, it’s a fair question. Social media is a creative playground. It’s fast, flexible, and fun. You can share a thought, a photo, a reel, and reach hundreds—sometimes thousands—in seconds. So why go through the effort of building a blog?

Because I’m also the person who grew up reading magazines cover to cover. The one who still gets excited when a new issue arrives in the mail. I still prefer watching movies on the big screen, where the lights dim and the world fades away. I like slowing down. I like stories.

Social media is great for moments. But I wanted a space for journeys.

A blog, for me, is like a cozy corner of the internet. It’s where things are not just posted—they’re placed. Thoughtfully. Intentionally. It’s where you can click and find things organized, categorized, and curated. No endless scrolling. No algorithm deciding what you see next. Just a space where everything has a place.

I wanted to create a space that feels like flipping through a travel magazine, or sitting down with a cup of chai and a good story. A space where I can bring a little bit of everything—travel tales, reflections, visuals, nostalgia—and weave them into something whole.

So yes, I’ll still post on social media. But this blog? This is where the heart of the story lives.

Welcome to the journey.
