Bali Bites: Eat, Chill, Repeat!

While Bali is brimming with incredible places to eat, I personally gravitate toward the more laid-back spots—places where I can relax, enjoy a good meal, and soak in the local vibe.

Instead of overwhelming you with a long list, I’m sharing just a few of my favorite finds that truly stood out during my trip.

🌴 Canggu

Made’s Warung

Once a small roadside stall in 1969, Made’s Warung has grown into a favorite for both locals and tourists. Old photos on the walls tell its story, and the food still feels like home.

I especially loved the Nasi Campur and satays—paired with a chilled fruit cocktail on the side.

Café del Mar

If you’re in the mood for cocktails and ribs with a view, head here during sunset. The ambiance is unbeatable, and the food pairs perfectly with the golden hour glow.

It’s a place where you can dress up or come as you are, sip something tropical, and let the ocean breeze do its thing.

🌿 Ubud

Natah Ubud

This charming family-run kitchen was a delightful surprise I stumbled upon while walking around. Try their meals with assorted varieties of delicacies.

That’s the beauty of Ubud—sometimes the best meals are found when you’re simply exploring on foot.

Menjamu Ubud

Another hidden gem I stumbled upon. Renowned for its bamboo-grilled dishes and fresh seafood, it’s the perfect spot to unwind.
Picture this: a plate of Mie Goreng, a sizzling seafood platter, a chilled beer in hand, and some great tunes in the background—an ideal way to end your day.

Sugriwa’s Warung

I kept coming back to this spot—and for good reason. Their Dadar Gulung, a pandan pancake filled with sweet coconut and palm sugar, was a standout.
Pro tip: Pair it with a scoop of ice cream for the ultimate treat.

The warung also serves authentic Balinese dishes, often accompanied by traditional music, adding a beautiful cultural layer to the dining experience.

Dijumah Cafe, Ubud

If you’re exploring waterfalls around Bangli, make time for a stop at Dijumah Cafe.
Unwind with a fresh smoothie or coffee, indulge in their homemade cake, and let the mellow rock tunes set the vibe.
I especially enjoyed their matcha tea paired with hot, crispy fries—and if you’re in the mood for something more filling, their Nasi Goreng won’t disappoint.

🍦 Sweet Tooth Alert

If you’ve got a sweet tooth like me, you’re in for a treat—Ubud is full of ice cream and gelato spots. I’ve honestly had a scoop (or two) every single day. From tropical fruit flavors to rich chocolatey swirls, the variety is endless.
I won’t name just one—part of the fun is walking around and discovering your own favorite. So get on your feet, explore, and let your taste buds lead the way!

🌊 Uluwatu

Mana Uluwatu

Mana may not serve traditional Indonesian fare, but it’s all about soulful, satisfying bites.
From shrimp tacos to Italian-inspired plates, it’s perfect for a dreamy date or even a solo sunset escape.
Perched on a cliff with golden skies, champagne in hand, mellow tunes, and the ocean breeze—it’s pure magic.

✈️ Note to Travelers

Bali is bursting with vibrant beach clubs and scenic cliffside restaurants—especially in Nusa Penida, Canggu, and Uluwatu. Whether you’re in the mood for a laid-back sunset cocktail or a stylish dinner with ocean views, there’s no shortage of stunning spots to choose from.

As you explore, you’ll also come across countless roadside warungs—small, local eateries that might not look fancy but are full of heart and flavor. These hidden gems often serve up some of the most authentic Balinese meals, and many are happy to customize dishes to suit your taste. It’s a great way to enjoy local food without the touristy frills.

Travel Tip: Don’t judge a warung by its cover—some of the best meals I had in Bali came from the most unassuming places.

🍽️ A Quick Tip

Bali’s popular dining spots can get quite crowded, especially during peak dinner hours. I usually eat early (perks of being a perpetually hungry traveler!), so I didn’t run into much trouble. But if you’re planning to dine during the rush, maybe you can pre-book a table and a little patience goes a long way.
